# What is the difference between Stiddle attributed metrics and original metrics?

> Learn when to rely on Stiddle’s identity-driven attribution numbers versus raw ad-platform metrics.

## Stiddle attributed metrics

* **Source** – Calculated by Stiddle’s attribution engine using IRIS identity resolution.
* **Use cases** – Budget allocation, lifecycle reporting, multi-touch analysis.
* **Advantages** – Deduplicated across devices/platforms, honors your attribution model (last touch, data-driven, etc.), includes offline conversions if connected.

## Original metrics

* **Source** – Pulled directly from each connected platform’s API (Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, etc.).
* **Use cases** – Channel owner reconciliations, billing, platform-specific optimizations.
* **Advantages** – Matches exactly what you see inside the native ad manager.

## Choosing the right one

| Scenario | Recommended metric |
| ------------------------------------------------- | -------------------------- |
| CEO report covering the full funnel | Stiddle attributed metrics |
| Troubleshooting a spend spike in Meta Ads Manager | Original metrics |
| Comparing blended ROAS across channels | Stiddle attributed metrics |
| Verifying that platform data synced correctly | Original metrics |

Most dashboards mix both: attributed metrics for outcomes, original metrics for delivery KPIs. Label widgets clearly so viewers understand which data source they are looking at.
